Direct from London’s West End to Adelaide’s east, one of the UK’s most riotous comedy hits is making its Australian debut at Adelaide Fringe 2026. Murder, She Didn’t Write, the Agatha Christie-inspired improvised murder mystery that has sold out seasons at Edinburgh Fringe, is heading to Gluttony for a strictly limited two-week run from March 3rd to 15th. So, if you love a whodunnit with a wildly unexpected twist, this one needs to be at the top of your Fringe list.
Co-produced by Wildpark Entertainment and Interactive Theatre International, the creative force behind Fringe favourites like Faulty Towers The Dining Experience, this clever and chaotic show puts the audience firmly in the driver’s seat. Each night, a brand-new murder mystery is created live on stage, with audience members deciding everything from the setting to the victim, and even the killer. The result is fast-paced, unpredictable and laugh-out-loud funny, with no two performances ever the same.
The premise is simple and endlessly entertaining. A cast of quick-witted performers conjures an entire ensemble of characters on the spot, pulling together a mystery filled with twists, red herrings and absurd circumstances. One night might see a poisoning at a synchronised swimming gala, while another could spiral into chaos at a reality TV-style recoupling ceremony. Somehow, the cast manages to turn even the most nonsensical ideas into a perfectly timed comic story.
Over the course of an hour, the audience becomes as involved as they choose, shouting suggestions, solving clues and attempting to work out who committed the crime before the big reveal. The joy of Murder, She Didn’t Write lies in its sense of risk, where even the performers don’t know what’s coming next.
Fans of Sherlock, Cluedo, Taskmaster or Whose Line Is It Anyway? will feel right at home, as will anyone who simply enjoys watching talented actors think on their feet under pressure. Landing at Gluttony’s The Gosling, this Adelaide Fringe season is the show’s Australian debut, ahead of a planned national tour in 2027. With just 12 performances across its entire run, tickets are expected to sell quickly.
So, if you’re looking for a Fringe experience that’s interactive, surprising and genuinely different every single night, Murder, She Didn’t Write is ready to put your detective skills and your sense of humour to the test.
