Uncertainty continues to surround the future of John Maduka at Magesi FC, with Siya sources indicating that several coaches are already positioning themselves for the head coaching role amid growing doubts over the incumbent’s status.
The speculation intensified on Saturday when Magesi went down 2-0 to Orlando Pirates in their Betway Premiership encounter at the Orlando Stadium.

Maduka was a notable absentee from the technical bench despite being present at the venue, raising eyebrows among observers.
In a surprise development, assistant coach Abram Nteo was listed as head coach on the official team sheet for the clash and was seen directing proceedings from the technical area throughout the match.
The club had made no public communication regarding any coaching changes beforehand, with the first indication coming shortly before kick-off when the matchday team sheet surfaced showing Nteo elevated to the lead role.
Following the match, Nteo was asked during the post-match press conference to clarify the situation surrounding the technical bench reshuffle. However, he deflected the question, saying:
“With respect, I will say, can you please ask me a question about the game. About the coach, the management will talk about it.”
Despite the lack of official confirmation from the club, the Siya crew has learnt that coaches are already lining up for the Magesi job, anticipating possible changes behind the scenes. Sources have revealed that Abram Mangoya is among the coaches understood to have had initial communication with the club through representatives.

Magesi’s struggles this season have only added to the uncertainty. The Limpopo-based side is at the bottom of the Betway Premiership standings, having managed just two wins from 15 matches and sitting on 11 points.
With pressure mounting and questions lingering over the technical leadership, the coming days could prove decisive for both Maduka and Magesi FC.
